Iconic participation of Brazilian singer Dircinha Baptista in the 1936 film Hello, Hello, Carnival. One of the biggest stars of Brazilian music in the 1930s, she was one of President Getúlio Vargas’ favorite singers.
Dircinha Baptista and her sister Linda Baptista were “Queens of Radio,” acted in about 30 films, and cultivated millions of fans, from anonymous to the then president of the Republic, Getúlio Vargas, who elevated them to the status of “national heritage.”
